Creating a kinder world for dairy cows and their babies.

Giving unwanted
newborn dairy calves
a second chance at life.

Due to the pressure for cows to continue to produce milk, every year in Australia hundreds of thousands of newborn calves are born. The majority of female calves are kept as replacements for the milk producing herd, while most males are considered wastage or by-products.

Each year around 800,000 of these newborn calves are born, taken from their mother shortly after birth and either killed on-farm or sent for commercial slaughter within just 5 days of life.

Companion Cows is a
not-for-profit, registered charity that rescues, rehabilitates, rehomes, and represents dairy cows and their babies.

  • A world where dairy animals are no longer harmed. What a beautiful world that would be.
