Slaughter Trucks loaded with babies
Every spring, trucks roll out of dairy farms across Australia. To anyone passing by, they look ordinary—just another livestock truck on the road. But inside, hidden from public view, lies one of the dairy industry’s darkest secrets.
Their cargo? Tiny calves—babies just 5 days old. Their fate is already decided. Male calves—unable to produce milk—and some female calves—deemed “excess” to a farmer’s needs—are considered unviable and too costly to raise.
Each year, between 400,000 and 700,000 of them are killed within their first week of life.
Every dollar raised goes directly into fuelling our work to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and advocate for dairy cows and calves across Australia.
We are one of the few charities in Australia dedicated exclusively to rescuing, rehabilitating, rehoming, and advocating for dairy calves and cows.
Since 2023, our small volunteer team in NSW and Tasmania has saved over 500 lives. Each one now lives safely as a beloved companion cow.
